Lots of excitement at the Marin County Fair

Today was opening day of the Marin County Fair.  I participated in making all or part of four quilts entered in the show.  I am delighted to report the Doodling #1 quilt I made with Sandra Harrington and Loretta Armstrong won a Blue Ribbon and Best of Show for large art quilts.  My Hardware Challenge piece won 1st place and Best of Show for miniature quilts.  My newest quilt “I Tessuti Rossi” was awarded a second place ribbon.  It was quilted by Sandra Harrington.  All and all a good showing.  The quilts are all pictured in Gallery 1 on this website.

My old garment making skills were recently tested when I made outfits for my son, his wife and daughter to wear to a neighborhood party.  The fabric has little houses printed on it similar to their own.

My friend Cara Gulati, Doodlepress.com, had her home featured in the current June/July issue of Quilter’s Home Magazine.  There is an beautiful on-line version of the article, http://www.quiltershomemag.com/content_downloads/webQHCara.pdf.  Read through it and you will see a lovely photo of “Party Girls” which I made several years ago.

That’s it for now, short and sweet.  Back to the studio.
