For several years I have told myself that I would like to dedicate an entire sketchbook to creating portraits. During the month of March an artist challenge came along that I could not resist. Participants are to create a portrait a day according to the daily prompt. For example the portraits above represent a woman inventor ( of the Barbie Doll) a woman artist and a character from literature. When the challenge was put forth, I had just watched a wonderful YouTube video on how to create portraits with alcohol based Copic Markers. I loved the clean modern style and wanted to give it a try. It has been a challenge just to keep up but I am enjoying every moment. Visit my new PORTRAIT page to see everything I have done so far. A new portrait challenge has come up for the month of April and I am considering it. I would like to get back to watercolor which would present another giant learning curve. We’ll see.........
In the mean time I am finishing some quilts, starting some new ones, preparing for another quilts retreat and preparing for some travel and missing my wonderful little grandchildren. That’s where the travel is required. Some dates are already on the calendar!
