Just finished the last week of watercolor class...

You can’t tell from this watercolor that we painted machine made objects the last week of the Jane LaFazio watercolor class, but I just needed to try to paint the beautiful hydrangea that I received as a birthday present from my sister-in-law Kathy.  It was a somewhat challenging undertaking but there is no doubt it looks like a hydrangea.  The most difficult part was getting the color of the blossom and showing all the lights and darks.  Anyway, I’m happy with it.

The day before my birthday I had a lovely surprise visit from my 8 month granddaughter and her parents, who even arrived with lunch.  We sat out on the deck and enjoyed the first really lovely day of spring along with all the hummingbirds and the red-tailed hawk flying to the nest with a tasty hawk treat.

On my birthday, the celebration was complete with a wonderful phone call from my older son.  We chatted awhile before I had to head off to a monthly critique group that I enjoy a great deal as well as reap many benefits.  I turned in my Hardware Challenge which can be viewed in Gallery 1.
