Where did February go...

February is a short month, but only by a few days, so why does it seem like it was just February 1 ! I guess it has just been a very busy month.  I started a new live watercolor class that is very difficult for me though enriching and valuable.  I am learning so much that I can apply to my little watercolor sketches.  Then there was the 4th annual quilt retreat up in Healdsburg.  I did finish two quilt tops up there but more importantly the week got me back to my sewing machine and the satisfaction and excitement of working with gorgeous fabrics.  I hope to finish a quilt a month again in 2014 but at the rate I am going there will be a lot of “catch up.”  To matter matters worse, I started two new quilts yesterday.  That is another story in itself.  Upon returning from the quilt retreat I gathered some fabrics together with the intent of trying out some ideas I had been thinking about for some time.  The fabrics were all piled on my cutting table which meant I could not set up my table easel for a watercolor project.  Instead of just putting all the fabric back on the shelf I cut everything out then felt the need to start sewing to see if my color and pattern choices were good.  So two new quilts are in the works and my table is still a bit of a mess so why am I at the computer?  The answer is because it is the LAST day of the month and I do not want to let February go by without some news from the Sunshine and Shadow site.  Now I’m off to an Italian class... Ciao amici!
